Meet the Team: Bringing Quality Building Services to Telford
Have you ever wondered who is actually behind the high-vis jackets and the rumbling vans on your street? If you’re looking for Building Services in Telford, we think it’s important you know exactly who is working on your home.
We are WS Building Services (Shropshire) Ltd, and we’ve been a team since 2015. But our story actually starts much earlier than that!
How We Started: A Perfect Match
Our directors, Craig Ward and Robert Spink, first met back in 2011 while working for another building company. Craig was a Contracts Manager, and Rob was running the day-to-day operations and reactive-works division.
Working side by side for 4 years, they built a strong bond based on mutual respect, quality craftsmanship, and a love of the trade.
In 2014, they both decided to go into business for themselves. Separately at first. However, they soon realised they shared the exact same values:
- Pricing the job right the first time (no hidden “extra” costs later!).
- Keeping work sites clean, tidy and organised.
- Being honest with the client at every step. Honest about the dust, the timeframes, and the disruption of building work.
In October 2015, they joined forces to create WS Building Services (Shropshire) Ltd.
Meet the Directors
Every build needs a leader (or two!). Here is what Craig and Rob bring to every project:
- Craig Ward (Managing Director): Craig has over 25 years of experience. He actually started learning the ropes as a child by helping his dad, who was also a builder! Craig is a master builder with an eye for the “little details” and makes sure our clients feel comfortable and happy throughout the build.
- Robert Spink (Operations Director): Rob is the man who makes things happen on-site. He is great at finding creative solutions for difficult and unusual builds that might stump other builders. Rob manages our team of skilled tradesmen to make sure everything stays on track, to deadlines, and to budgets.
Building Dreams in Telford and Beyond
We don’t just “build”; we help people create more space for their families, make their home accessible for a disabled relative, or make a space new and refreshed again, with a full refurbishment.
One of our favourite recent projects was for Mr and Mrs Rutherford in Alscott. We built a beautiful single-story extension to give them a brand-new kitchen and dining room – a new space, a new home layout, and no moving vans in sight.
While we love providing extensions, refurbishments, and adaptive works in Telford, we also travel to help people in:
- Newport, Tibberton and Lilleshall.
- Shifnal, Sheriffhales, and Albrighton.
- Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, and Shrewsbury.
